April 4th meeting at Brandon University

Mar 16, 2018

The April 4th meeting of Southwest Branch will take place at Brandon University – Convergy’s Computer Lab on the main floor of the Library.

Please meet at 7:20 pm in the rotunda just outside the Library (same entrance as the Evans Theatre). Please try to be there by 7:20 so that we may make our way to the Computer Lab.

Brandon University Archivist Emeritus Tom Mitchell will present the documentary: “Wheat City 1900s – Making Modern Brandon”. Following the documentary, Tom will facilitate discussion and answer questions.

In preparation for the evening, check out this link to Tom’s homepage with an account of the film to be viewed April 4th. https://people.brandonu.ca/mitchellt/documentaries/ Click on the poster image once and twice to get a larger view. Tom will open the evening with these questions: Where was the photographer standing when he took this shot? And who was the photographer?

We will spend a few minutes updating members about the April 21st Seminar and Heritage Dinner prior to the showing. Feel free to bring guests.

Any questions – call Laura 204 728 2935 or email: crooks@wcgwave.ca This will be an interesting evening that will inform us and stir some memories.

Hope to see you there!
