2017 Upcoming Workshop

The Workshop Committee has planned a workshop to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday, the theme for the workshop is “Celebrating our Roots”.  Register and mark your calendars for April 22, 2017 – workshop from 9:00 – 4:00; Heritage Dinner at 6:00. The fee for our workshop is $75 and dinner is $25. The keynote speakers for the workshop will be Gordon Goldsborough who will speak on “ My favourite methods (online and offline) for researching family roots” and Lesley Anderson, Canadian representative for Ancestry, ca on Using DNA and online trees to further your research. Gordon is our guest speaker in the evening, Gordon’s focus will be “Abandoned Manitoba”, the title of his latest book and the name of the series he is doing on CBC Radio every Sunday morning with Terry McLeod. Gordon is well known as a very active member of the Manitoba Historical Society; currently he is Chair of the Publications Committee, Pageant Editor, Co-Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee and Webmaster.
